Viaris Orbis Charger Configuration

This page contains instructions for configuring
Orbis
chargers with Charge HQ
Please refer to our
Orbis
charger listing for details on supported models and charger specifications.

Supported Firmware Versions

The following models and firmware versions have been tested with Charge HQ:

  • Viaris Orbis Combi+, firmware 7.1.7.202 and higher
  • Viaris Orbis Uni, firmware 7.1.7.202 and higher

Any other more recent firmware version should work.

Step 1 - Obtain an EVSE ID from Charge HQ

  • Open the Charge HQ app
  • Go to Settings tab -> My Equipment -> Connect your Smart Charger
  • EVSE ID: this will be entered into your smart wall charger, note down that value displayed on your app or copy it to the clipboard. You will use this in Step 5.
  • Min and Max Power (A): Update these if you believe they are different to the default settings.
  • Click Submit

Note: The EVSE ID is a unique identifier for your charger, it cannot be the same as any other OCPP charger that is connected to Charge HQ. For this reason Charge HQ will provide you with a known-unique value that you can set in your charger.

Step 2 - Access the configuration portal

The charger must be configured to connect to the Internet via WiFi or Ethernet.

Setup can be done via the Viaris Orbis app on your phone or via the Viaris Orbis configuration web-page on the charger

Via the mobile App

  • Install the e-Viaris mobile app
  • Follow the manual to connect the app to your charger
  • From the settings menu select OCPP
  • Set the URL: ws://ocpp.chargehq.net/ocpp16/XXXXXX where XXXXX is replaced with the EVSE ID obtained in Step 1 above. For example, ws://ocpp.chargehq.net/ocpp16/a124345
  • Set Port to: 80
  • Click save.

Note: if you prefer to connect via SSL/TLS, please refer to our SSL/TLS connection guide.

Via the charger configuration portal

Alternately you can connect to the charger via the configuration portal using the web browser on your computer.

The URL and Port settings are the same as provided for the mobile app. Ensure XXXXXX is replaced with the EVSE ID obtained in Step 1

Click Overwrite when complete.

Step 3 - Confirm connection

  • Open the Charge HQ app
  • Navigate to Settings -> My Equipment -> Smart Charger
  • Wait for up to 5 minutes on this screen.
  • The Connection State should change to “Online” and the status should show “Available”

Step 9 - Confirm ability to control charging

  • From the home screen of the Charge HQ app, select “Charge Now”
  • Confirm that the LED lights on the charger and the display on your EV indicate the vehicle is charging.
  • Confirm that charging is occurring at the configured rate (Amps)
  • From the home screen of the Charge HQ app, select “Stop”
  • Confirm that charging of your EV has stopped.

Step 10 - Continue to Charge HQ settings

Charge HQ can now control your EO wall charger.

See our Step by Step setup and other app configuration guides for assistance with configuration of the rest of the Charge HQ app.
