The home location setting only applies to Tesla EVs. It is not set when charging is controlled via a smart charger.
Once you set a home location, Charge HQ will only control the charging of your EV when it is at the specified location. The location is taken from the vehicle’s GPS.
This ensures that if you plug into an AC charger when you’re not at home, Charge HQ will not attempt to control charging. By default, Charge HQ will not control charging when connected to Superchargers or other DC fast chargers.
Ensure the vehicle is parked in the location that it is normally located at whilst charging.
In the Charge HQ app, go to Settings → Home Location → Set Home Location button
