EO Charger Configuration

This page contains instructions for configuring
EO
chargers with Charge HQ
Please refer to our
EO
charger listing for details on supported models and charger specifications.

Steps 2 - 5 are provided as an overview for accessing the EO charger configuration portal and connecting it to your WiFi. Please consult the product installation manual for a more comprehensive guide.

Step 1 - Obtain an EVSE ID from Charge HQ

  • Open the Charge HQ app
  • Go to Settings tab -> My Equipment -> Connect your Smart Charger
  • EVSE ID: this will be entered into your smart wall charger, note down that value displayed on your app or copy it to the clipboard. You will use this in Step 5.
  • Min and Max Power (A): Update these if you believe they are different to the default settings.
  • Click Submit

Note: The EVSE ID is a unique identifier for your charger, it cannot be the same as any other OCPP charger that is connected to Charge HQ. For this reason Charge HQ will provide you with a known-unique value that you can set in your charger.

Step 2 - Connect to the chargers WiFi hotspot

  • Power up the charger
  • Within 10 minutes of powering up access the WiFi hotspot created by the charger.
  • The network name will be in the form “eo-xxxxxx” where xxxx is the serial number of your charger.
  • The password for the network is provided with the documentation for your charger.
  • Connect to this network.

Step 3 - Login to the portal

  • In your web browser enter the URL http://10.10.10.1/
  • Login to the portal using:
  • Username: “Installer” (without the double quotes)
  • Password: as specified in the documentation / manual provided with your charger

Step 4 - Connect to Wifi

Navigate to the Network menu in the charger portal:

  • Enable the WiFi toggle
  • Manually enter your home WiFi network name and password
  • Enable the DHCP toggle
  • Click Save

Step 5 - Configure OCPP settings

Navigate to the “CSMS” menu in the charger portal, set

  • CSMS Server Address to: ws://ocpp.chargehq.net:80/ocpp16
  • Charger identity: <as obtained from the Charge HQ app in Step 1>
  • Offline Authorisation toggle: set to disabled
  • All other values can be left as the default settings.
  • Click Save.

Note: if you prefer to connect via SSL/TLS, please refer to our SSL/TLS connection guide.

Step 6 - Check Smart Charging

Navigate to the Smart Charging menu, check that

  • Default profile is disabled
  • Randomised delay is set to 0

Step 7 - Restart the charger

Navigate to the Admin menu:

  • Click the “restart” button next to the “SCC client” text
  • Click the “restart” button below the EVSE text

Step 8 - Confirm connection

  • Wait for up to 5 minutes on this screen.
  • The Connection State should change to “Online” and the status should show “Available”

Step 9 - Confirm ability to control charging

  • From the home screen of the Charge HQ app, select “Charge Now”
  • Confirm that the LED lights on the charger and the display on your EV indicate the vehicle is charging.
  • Confirm that charging is occurring at the configured rate (Amps)
  • From the home screen of the Charge HQ app, select “Stop”
  • Confirm that charging of your EV has stopped.

Step 10 - Continue to Charge HQ settings

Charge HQ can now control your EO wall charger.
