A large number of Tesla vehicles are failing to wake from sleep in response to Tesla app or API requests.
Starting on 5th April we observed a large number of Tesla vehicles not waking from sleep for scheduled or solar charging requests.
The issue impacts all API use, including the Tesla app and other 3rd-party apps such as TeslaFi.
This issue has occurred before, and is reportedly caused by a problem with the Telstra cell network in Australia, which is used to wake a sleeping vehicle.
As a work-around until the issue is resolved, enabling Sentry mode will keep the vehicle awake so that solar and scheduled charging can start as normal. Be aware that this will cause the vehicle to use substantially more energy when parked. Alternatively you can wake the vehicle manually by unlocking it or by using the Tesla app within Bluetooth range.
If you rely on overnight charging we recommend enabling the vehicle schedule in combination with the Charge HQ schedule. This will ensure your vehicle charges regardless of any network issue. For details see this guide.
