Why am I seeing Tesla Commands Failing?

This page contains instructions for configuring
chargers with Charge HQ
Please refer to our
charger listing for details on supported models and charger specifications.

If you see an error titled "Tesla Commands Failing" it means that Charge HQ is trying to send charging commands to your vehicle and those commands are failing for an unknown reason.

This error may also appear if Charge HQ has incorrect data from your vehicle, eg Charge HQ thinks the vehicle is plugged in but it's actually unplugged.

To diagnose this error:

  • open the Tesla app (or look at the vehicle touchscreen) and compare the charging state in Charge HQ to the actual charging state. If Charge HQ has the wrong state, try unplugging / replugging your vehicle.
  • if Charge HQ has the correct state but is unable to start or stop charging, look for error messages on the vehicle's touchscreen. They may indicate a problem with the charging equipment eg plug not inserted properly or voltage drop issues

If there is no error on the vehicle touchscreen and Charge HQ is displaying the correct vehicle state, try rebooting your vehicle by holding down both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the touchscreen reboots. That often resolves problems.

You could also try disconnecting and reconnecting Charge HQ to your Tesla account by opening the Charge HQ app and going to Settings -> My Equipment -> Tesla Account and select Disconnect.

If you are still having trouble please email info@chargehq.net for help. Please include your Charge HQ email address in your email so we can find your account.
