Growatt Inverter Setup

This page contains instructions for configuring
chargers with Charge HQ
Please refer to our
charger listing for details on supported models and charger specifications.

Only systems located in Australia and New Zealand are currently supported. If you can access your system at https://server-au.growatt.com then it can be connected to Charge HQ. Systems in other regions are not supported.

Connection of Growatt inverters to Charge HQ are processed manually. New connections will take from 1 to 3 weeks to complete.

For all other inverter brands, the connection process is automatic. Growatt does not have such capability. Every two weeks we email them a list of connection requests, and someone at Growatt processes them, usually within a week. We cannot send them more frequently and we cannot send ad-hoc individual requests. If the device serial number and or username supplied is incorrect, the process will fail and the connection will not be processed. Correcting it will require starting the process again with the same delay. If your connection is not approved within 4 weeks, please contact us.

We appreciate the delay is frustrating, we have engaged with Growatt to try and automate connections without success. If it becomes possible in future we will update the process.

Important

Before starting configuration - please check your device compatibility and supported configurations.

Step 1 - Obtain inverter serial number

Step 2 - Submit connection request

  • Navigate to Settings -> My Equipment -> Connect your Solar / Battery equipment
  • Select Growatt
  • Enter your Growatt username obtained in Step 1
  • Enter your inverter serial number obtained in Step 1
  • Click Submit

Note: for sites with multiple Growatt inverters, you only need to provide the serial number for one of the inverters in your account. It doesn't matter which one you choose.

Step 3 - Wait for confirmation

  • You will receive a confirmation message on the screen indicating your connection request is pending activation.
  • Connection requests will be manually processed by Charge HQ & Growatt.
  • It may take up to 3 weeks for the connection request to be processed.
  • You will receive a confirmation via email once approved.
  • The status on the equipment profile will also be updated. You can check by navigating to Settings -> My Equipment -> Solar & Battery Equipment
  • You do not need to start a trial or pay for a subscription before your connection is confirmed.

Step 4 - Confirmation received

  • Once you receive confirmation of connection your Growatt inverter should now be configured. This provides Charge HQ with visibility of your solar data.
