Avoiding issues caused by network ad-blockers and firewalls

If your home network runs an ad-blocker or firewall which may restrict outbound connections and your Tesla vehicle is connected to this network via WiFi, it may cause issues with Charge HQ.

How to avoid the issues

To avoid issues, please add the following addresses to your ad-blocker's "white list" or "allowed hosts list":

  • telemetry.tesla.chargehq.net
  • tesla.chargehq.net
  • *.chargehq.net

Details

Charge HQ communicates with Tesla vehicles using the Fleet Telemetry mechanism. This involves the vehicle connecting directly to Charge HQ's servers. If an ad-blocker on your home network prevents these connections, it will cause malfunctions in Charge HQ as it will not know the state of your vehicle and will not control charging correctly.
