How frequently will solar charging start and stop on a cloudy day?

This page contains instructions for configuring
chargers with Charge HQ
Please refer to our
charger listing for details on supported models and charger specifications.
  • When the amount of solar drops below the minimum charge rate Charge HQ will wait 6 minutes before stopping the charge. This delay also applies to the Min Solar Generation and Min Excess Solar limit. If the available solar goes back above the minimum within the 6 minute period, the timer will reset. This is intended to prevent charging from stopping every time a cloud goes over.
  • When charging has stopped due to low solar, Charge HQ will wait 15 minutes before restarting. After 15 minutes solar charging will start again only when the minimum requires solar generation is available. You may force Charge HQ to restart earlier using a button on the home screen.
